Robert went to sleep in the Lord on December 28, 2011 at his home. He was born in Laredo, Texas on April 15, 1934 to his parents, E. J. Pearl and Edna Lucille Pearl. Robert graduated from Freer High School in 1951, graduated from the University of Texas, served in the U.S. Army and worked in the oilfield of South Texas and was a member of the Morningside Drive Church of Christ of Alice. His greatest blessing in life was his service to the church as an Elder and Deacon
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bill H. Pearl and one granddaughter.
Robert is survived by Mary Elaine Cook, his wife of 55 years; one son, Bob and Darlene and children, Micah, Nathan and Matthew of Mandeville, Louisiana and one deceased daughter, Emily Pearl; one daughter, Jeanne and her husband, Clay Pollard and children, daughter, Mary Claire Pollard of Austin, Texas and son, Clayton Pollard, Jr. of Houston, Texas; one brother, John K. Pearl and wife, Valerie of Dallas, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Morningside Drive Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Danny Haigood, Noe Ortiz, Richard Hausman, Clifford Hammock, Doug Phillips and George Woods. The Elders and Deacons of Morningside Drive Church of Christ will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family requests all gifts of memorial be given to the Church of Christ at Morningside Drive in Alice, Texas.
